Our Racing D.U.I. Distributor is capable of turning 9000 RPM's. That's almost double the output
of a stock H.E.I.! Years of engineering experience and modern technology allowed us to develop
a high voltage coil and high dwell module that would turn the high rev's needed for today's racing
engines. No external spark boxes or coils are needed as our race coil and module fit inside the
distributor for an easy drop-in installation with a one wire hookup. This is the only magnetically
triggered, self-contained (internal coil and module) distributor available that will spin 9000 RPM's!

The Racing D.U.I. Coil allows spark plug gaps to be opened up to .055" and the increased dwell in
the Dyna-Module makes the coil produce a longer duration spark. The combination of these two
components produces an intense spark that is unmatched by stock HEI's and other "performance"
ignition systems, particularly those using the external spark boxes. The result is a more complete
burn of the fuel mixture for more horsepower. Amperage draw off the battery is minimal as the
Racing D.U.I. only pulls 2-3 amps, whereas other aftermarket ignition systems draw 10 amps or
more. For those not running an alternator, this prevents the battery voltage from dropping too quickly.

The Racing D.U.I. also sends 2-3 times more spark into the combustion chamber than a magneto.
The plug gap with a mag is a mere 015" - .025", so horsepower is gained with the D.U.I. because
more fuel is burned on each piston stroke. The wider gap also helps spark plugs stay cleaner longer
which means fewer plug changes at the track. The Racing D.U.I. makes point systems obsolete.
You won't waste time and money changing points for every race and you'll get more voltage into your
system than points can handle.

The advance system is tuned to give you better throttle response and more power. All of the moving
parts are hand fitted to assure the smoothest advance curve possible. The weights are fabricated
from very high quality hardened steel which are virtually maintenance free. You'll be able to run more
timing (without detonation) than ever before. There is no excess advance at high RPM's as with other
HEI's due to a unique centrifugal advance developed exclusively by Performance Distributors.

The Racing D.U.I. Coil is designed to run cooler than all other coils, including oil-filled coils. Our "no-
resistance" rotor bushing carries all of the firepower from the coil to the rotor. The units wider cap
terminal spacing eliminates cross fire which occurs in smaller diameter caps. Nylon rotor hold-down
screws help prevent misfire at high RPM's. Available with or without vacuum advance, the unit

RACING DUI w/ INSTANT TIMING KNOB

Our Racing DUI Distributor is available with the Instant Timing Knob which allows for timing
adjustments to be made to the engine quickly and easily without the use of a timing light.
Once the total timing is dialed into the engine, fine tuning can be accomplished with a simple
turn of the knob. The knob is marked and can be locked into position so that you do not lose
your adjustment due to vibration. If your engine needs 1 degree less timing, simply turn the
adjustment knob 1/2 turn clockwise. Turn the knob one full turn to retard 2 degrees. If the
engine could use more timing, rotate the knob counterclockwise for advanced timing. This
device can allow your mechanic to tune the engine in between races without burning hands
and having to fumble with hooking up the timing light.The instant timing knob is sold installed

LIVEWIRES

Delivering a high voltage spark to the plug requires a quality spark plug wire.
Our LiveWires are unsurpassed in quality by offering low resistance and high
temperature protection. The 8 mm wire is covered by a heat treated fiberglass
sleeve that protects the wire up to 1400° F. The spiral wound core is radio
suppression so there is no radio noise or computer interference. Unlike universal
plug wire sets, LiveWires do not require any assembly. All sets are custom fit and
numbered at each end for the correct cylinder. Colors available are black, blue,
red, purple and yellow.

DYNA-MODULE w/ BUILT-IN REV LIMITER

Our high dwell Dyna-Module is now available with a built-in adjustable Rev Limiter! This
module performs the same as our regular Dyna-Mod by increasing spark duration but
offers the added convenience of protecting your engine from over revving. The rev limit
is adjustable through a small rotary dial on the end of the module from 5000 to 10,000 rpm.
Works with all of our DUI and HEI type distributors that utilize the 4 pin module.

DUI REV LIMITER

Protect your engine from over revving with the DUI Rev Limiter. The D.U.I. Rev Limiter
drops one cylinder at a time very smoothly. This prevents fuel from loading up on the
plugs. This also avoids backfires and engine damage. Set your RPM limit with plug-in
modules. A 6000, 7000 and 8000 RPM module is included with the rev limiter. Other
RPM increment modules are available separately if needed. This unit works great with
all of our DUI distributors.

    MINI-VIP

    The Mini-VIP is a voltage step up regulator that works with any 12 volt battery to boost
    voltage output up to 18 volts. Sending 18 volts to the Racing DUI Distributor will increase
    voltage output and allow spark plug gaps to be opened up to .070" - .075". This larger
    gap exposes more spark to the fuel mixture to increase the burn and produce more
    horsepower. The Mini-VIP has been dyno tested to produce 16.6 more horsepower and
    21.8 more pounds of torque on a two barrel Chevrolet 350 racing engine compared to the

    BATTERY AND TACHOMETER CONNECTORS

    These plastic insulators and brass terminals make your power supply connection
    and tach connection to the DUI Distributor super easy! They plug directly into the
    cap and coil assembly and the locking tabs prevent lost connections due to vibration.
    The Battery and Tachometer Connectors are priced separately so one of each will
    be needed for the hot wire and tach hookup.

    CHEVROLET DISTRIBUTOR SHIMS

    Nylon shims may be necessary to protect the cam and distributor gears from irregular wear.
    Engines that have had the block and heads milled may allow the distributor to sit farther down
    in the motor which will "bottom out" the distributor on the oil pump. This situation puts the gears
    in a bind which will cause irregular wear and eventually destruction to the teeth of the gears.
    Installing a shim of correct thickness will allow the gears to mesh properly and will prevent a
    costly repair down the road. These durable nylon shims fit between the intake and distributor
    gasket and come in sizes of .030", .060" and .100".
